WorldSkills UK Centre of Excellence CPD Event, delivered in partnership with specialist awarding organisation NCFE
Join educators, quality leaders and sector partners from across the UK for a day of professional learning, collaboration and practice sharing focused on driving excellence in technical and vocational education. Drawing on WorldSkills UK methodologies and evidence-informed approaches, the event will explore how institutions are embedding high-quality teaching, learning and assessment practices to strengthen learner outcomes, support organisational priorities and accelerate quality improvement.
You will also hear directly from Centre of Excellence members as they share practical insights, experiences and lessons learned from implementing WorldSkills UK approaches in their own contexts.

The power of competition-based pedagogy Discover how WorldSkills UK competition‑based pedagogy can strengthen qualification delivery and better align provision with employer needs. This workshop will explore practical approaches for embedding high‑challenge, industry relevant learning across apprenticeship programmes, driving innovation in delivery, strengthening assessment, and accelerating readiness for the workplace. You will see how competition – based training can be used to simulate real occupational pressure, strengthen collaboration, and support consistent, high-quality outcomes. The session will provide actionable strategies, access to WorldSkills UK resources, and approaches you can apply immediately to enhance delivery, performance and progression into sustained employment. |

Introduction to Coaching for Excellence WorldSkills UK uses performance psychology in the development of its talent pipeline training of Squad and Team UK, preparing them for international competition. The strategies used are evidence informed and contribute to a coaching approach underpinned by a focus on the psychological characteristics of developing excellence. We help learners to develop a range of psychosocial behaviours that they can use to help them negotiate their studies, careers and the general challenges that life presents.
