Our partnership with WorldSkills UK brings together two organisations that share a belief in the power of skills, practical education and excellence. Together, we are helping young people develop the technical skills, confidence and experience they need to build successful careers, while celebrating the incredible talent within the UK’s skilled trades.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple:

To help more young people see the skilled trades as careers to be proud of and give them the skills, confidence, tools and opportunities to build a successful future.

We want to help change perceptions of the trades and ensure young people have access to practical, industry-relevant experiences from the very beginning of their journey.

Because we believe that investing in the next generation of tradespeople today is an investment in the future of construction tomorrow.

The DEWALT Academy

Founded in 2025, the DEWALT Academy is a key part of that mission.

The Academy was created to help young people take their first steps towards a career in the skilled trades and build a lasting relationship with DEWALT from the beginning of their journey.

In 2026, we are proudly partnering with 15 colleges across the UK and supporting more than 7,000 students, giving them access to professional tools, practical training, industry knowledge and experiences that bring the world of work into the classroom.

But the Academy is about more than providing tools.

It is about helping students develop the skills, confidence and professional mindset they need to succeed in their chosen trade, while giving them a genuine connection to the industry and the opportunities it can offer.

Through our partnerships with colleges, educators, industry associations and tradespeople, we are creating opportunities for students to learn, practice, and develop using professional tools and standards.

We believe the relationship between a tradesperson and the tools they use can start long before they arrive on their first jobsite.

By being there from the beginning, we want DEWALT to be part of their journey, helping them build the skills and confidence to build their future.

WorldSkills UK provides an incredible platform to showcase what talented young people can achieve.

The competitions challenge students and apprentices to perform at their very best, but they also demonstrate something much bigger: skilled trades are ambitious, rewarding and essential to the future of our economy and society.
